A Funny Show!

This cartoon had what a lot of cartoons nowadays lack, expressive characters! I like a show that explains a characters personality by actions. This cartoon had a great sense of detail, I mean look at the backgrounds! Clearly the artist didn't settle for a simple, drab backdrop. I knew this was worth watching when the first few seconds made me laugh! This is a series I'll be looking forward to seeing again!

Comment to Artist: Great job! Frame by frame sure is a tedious way to animate ain't it? Remember that the paint brush tool is affected by how much you're zoomed in. Zoom in 200% you gonna get some tiny ass lines. Sometimes I write down which scenes and specific characters are drawn in at a certain zoom percentage, that way the outlines don't morph when they are animated. It's helped me very much. You should play around with drawing in certain zoom percentages, you be surprised at what you can create!

Thanks man, it really makes it worth all the effort to get reviews by quality animators such as yourself, i've seen your 'weirdo fights eps1' and it's hilarious and really well animated. I'll certainly take on board your advice for next time ;) thanks mate!!

It lights up my dark room.

With a short System of a Down song, this flash was very cool to gaze at. I was relieved to see that this wasn't just a music video for SOAD. Since there are so many, I'm glad was an original. I enjoyed the seizure inducing giant Tankman too! (Careful watching this if you dudes are epileptic)!

psyblackart responds:

SOAD rules! :D Giant Tankman too. :D Oh. Thanks for the warning about epileptics. ;) And yeah! Your "Weirdo Fights" is awesome and have very good FBF animation! Cheers...

One Bloody Trip!

This flash, I say, is pretty cool. The graphics in this animation was really well done. I am also impressed of the presentation this animation had. With the right scene changes and music in the background, this flash is actually too freaky to watch in the dark... alone. The character designs had me thinking that this was to be a funny flash, but the grim, dark, surroundings and atmosphere said otherwise. I feel like watching it again!

Zwickel responds:

Really nice comment, thanks a lot man.
The next installment will come soon!

Now that's cool!

I enjoyed watching that awesome psycadelhic animation! Gald I didn't got motion sickness... Super quick and stylish, a very cool collaboration! My personal favorites are Squeezy's smooth and hilarious animations! Not saying the other were bad, they were good too! I just liked the craziness Squeezy's short clips had. Time well spent on this flash!

It made me laugh, Spacedew dude.

I liked how you used frame by frame animation. I appreciate fbf more than tweened animation. That's a funny anthro character, your voice suits him well.

The sound was also good (i.e. forest ambience, voice). Sounds are just as important as the animation itself, both has to be top quality. Also the slapstick humor made me laugh.

Who put that trap there? Just a thought... no interference to the review score.

Now what I would do is try to polish the characters outlines, my animations seems really sketchy for example. You don't have to for your next animation but it's a great area for improvement.

Advice:

1) Add shading to give the characters depth; it's a pain, but if done right the characters will just burst with emphasis.

2) Don't stop drawing!

I hope to see more funny animations like this and Carl Spacedew.

Who put the trap there? Probably a redneck hunter! HYUK HYUK

And yes, I will DEFINATELY take your advice and smooth out the characters. I wish I could buy a wacom tablet or whatnot but they're just too pricey for me. And I'll also attempt to shadow in my next animation. It's REALLY time consuming, but like you said, it does put some really great depth in the character. Thanks! Good review!

Take that robber! PWNED!

Nice frame by frame animation! I checked out your site, your a pretty good artist! People really need to stop this tweening stuff and at least try frame by frame technuiqe for once.

Graphics: "Hey stupid, you colored outside of the lines!" Hehe, I noticed the background colors are, thats neat. Otherwise you would have had a boring background.

Style: The Suburban Ninja looks like those little toys ninjas I had when I was a kid. Sketchy movements, but they helped with the smooth motions.

Sound: The sfx were great, however I can't say the same with the music. Some parts that were playing confused me if what I was hearing music or effects? Quality was low, but at least it helps those 56k viewers.

Violence: He was about the slit that guys throat! Instead chopped off his hand! I bet that was his useful hand *hint hint*

Humor: I laughed when I saw the George Foreman... don't know why. Also the hand on the plauqe was funny.

Overall: I love frame by frame animations, always have, always will. Tweening is all right, but those have to have redeeming qualitys for me to like them like this animation. Keep it up!

Goatomatic responds:

Thanks! Yeah I kinda based the ninja on those little rubber ones you get out of the bublegum machines, that's why I was reluctant to change his head to look more realistic. Tweening can be a usefull tool to keep the artist from drawing pointless drawings, but I agree, it is way overused. I think most people aren't aware that they can animate differently with flash, I know I didn't at first.

Lol!

That was funny! I must admit though, Bush bashing is overated but this had a funny catch phrase! "No child left behind"

TheOtherTruth responds:

Thank you for your review.

I did let him kill me...I thought that was giving him a sporting chance1 :)

I must admit...

This cartoon was pretty decent. I must say though, the drawings seemed crude and the animations seems really choppy, but I can tell you put a lot of effort into this. Glad to see someone really taking advantage of frame by frame animation. Even though many would say the drawing sucks, (no offense, can't blame them) the extras, it shows you actually planned this cartoon out.

The humor was appropriate and was not meant for cheap laughs (Like that crapwoman cartoon on front page, wtf!). I luaghed at a few parts.

All in all, awesome job to you and those who helped out.

P.S. I too have a DevArt account.

RogerregoRRoger responds:
